BPM finder

Play music near your phone or computer and ENYO Metronome listens for the beat, finds its tempo in beats per minute and sets the metronome to it.

How to find a song's BPM

What it listens for

It looks for a steady beat between 50 and 240 BPM by following how the loudness of the music rises and falls. Music with a clear pulse, such as drums, a bass line or a strummed guitar, gives the quickest result. Free time, rubato and very quiet music may have no steady beat to find; then it says so, and you can use tap tempo instead.

Other ways to get the tempo

Tap along with tap tempo, or look the song up in the song tempo list, where 991 well-known songs are listed with their tempo, time signature and feel, each with a click you can play.

Questions

How do I find the BPM of a song?
Play it near your device and press Listen in Stage Mode's Other menu. ENYO Metronome listens for 6 to 15 seconds and shows the tempo. You can also tap along with tap tempo, or look the song up in the song tempo list.
Why did it find half or double the tempo?
A beat can be felt in half time or double time, and either can be right. Press ÷2 or ×2 just after the result to switch.
Does it record the song?
No. The sound is analysed on your device as it arrives and is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
Can it find the tempo of a song playing on the same computer?
It hears what the microphone hears. Play the song through the speakers, not headphones, so the microphone can pick it up.
It says “No steady beat”. What now?
Move closer to the speaker or turn the music up, and try a part of the song with a clear beat. Or tap the tempo instead.
Is it free?
Yes, with no ads and no account needed.
